Until the integration of OCLC WorldCat records with Google becomes a reality, the best option might be RedLightGreen. This union catalog brings together over 120 million records describing over 42 million unique titles from library and museum holdings worldwide. A search will give you a list of materials, suggested subject headings, and other miscellanea. You can then check holdings at your local library, and it will even generate citations in various common formats.
