I recently went to Disney's Treasure Island and was somewhat depressed to discover how much fun it was. Thus, I was happy to find this superb (and comprehensive) literature review on academic criticisms of Disney theme parks by a professor of cultural studies and sociology. Don't miss the bibliography.

I respect low tech solutions to high tech problems, like this emergency charger for the Palm V.

To those of you who are (or know somebody who is) expecting a child - PLEASE check out the Circumcision Information and Resource Page - especially the cringe-inducing "What Happens During a Circumsicion" info page. Millions of infant boys born in the U.S. are still needlessly subjected to the horrors of an archaic Jewish tradition - make sure the little ones you know aren't one of them! And yes, I do thank the Good Lord every night that I was born overseas.

One of the most influential meme-machines in the modern Christian memepool is the crypto-scientific organization Creation Research Institute - which spends a great deal of time trying to convince the scientific community that the earth is really only 6500 years old. For those interested in a more thoughtful analysis of some of the existing problems with the conventional Darwinian model, point your browser to Darwin's Mistake.

I love my cat very much, so please don't think I'm coldhearted for passing on this strange combination of pictures of feline roadkill and poetry. Don't visit this site if you are squeamish. The author's somewhat highfalutin' explanation of his intention can be visited without trauma.

Is Christianity about love and forgiveness? Of course it is! But it's also about piracy, arrrrr! Listen to some audio recordings of a ventriloquism-based children's TV show from the 70's called "Captain Hook and his Christian Pirate Crew". Arr! Prepare to be boarded.. BY THE LORD.

I am neither a Microsoft basher or booster -- I've always felt that the question of what OS you run is much less interesting than what you run on it -- but I did enjoy this site which proves once again that whenever you're looking for someone to cross the line between strongly-held beliefs and ludicrous over-the-top hyperbole, the objectivists will always be there.

Have you seen strange moving lights in the night sky lately? They're not UFOs, but rather so-called Iridium flares, flashes of light reflected from the 60+ Iridium satellites now in orbit around the Earth. To find out exactly when these satellites (and many others) are overhead, consult the German Space Operations Center's satellite finder

Now if only memepool followed the Style Guide for Authoring Hypertext Content for Mobile Devices (or had an alternate page that did), then the Avantgo Channel I created for use on my Palm Pilot would be even more impossibly nifty.
