| While the practical creative kids were graduating from Duplos, Lincoln Logs, and Brio sets to Legos and Erector sets; those of us with tastes towards abstract geometry were getting tired of Tinkertoys and were discovering the more mathematical toys such as Tensegritoy, K'Nex, Zome, Hoberman Toys, Roger's Connection, and Polydron. And now a newcomer with a radical idea -- Atollo, which can build complex geometric shapes from just two simple pieces. to Toys by onigame |

| Sunday Sep 16, 2001 | Real Time Battle and Robot Battle are just two of many games in which the object is not to do battle with the competition directly but instead write little programs that fight each other on a virtual battlefield.
Core Wars, one of the oldest of these games, has spawned an entire subgenre in which fighters are evolved
genetically instead of being written by hand -- programs writing programs for fighting programs inside programs.

| Taking a critical standpoint towards mass-media is generally a wise decision, if one wishes to keep a level head during stressful times. Not only has CNN failed to mention some rather interesting background info on America's most wanted Terrorist, now claims are circulating that the footage of people dancing on the streets of Palestina is, in fact, 10 years old.
These claims have
been proven to be incorrect as well as recanted by their origin, and apparently the disappearance
of said footage can be accredited to Palestinian
authorities threatening camera crews.
Nontheless, keep this media giant's flawed
record in mind
when watching the
news.

| At about the same time Commander Randall G. Bowdish wrote Information-Age
Psychological Operations, members of the Fourth Psychological
Operations Group were working for
CNN and NPR. Bowdish writes: "The power of TV and radio to
influence behavior has not been lost on military PSYOP
personnel. During Operation Uphold Democracy, radio and TV programming
was used in a carefully crafted interagency campaign "to prepare
Haitians for democracy's restoration and the imminent arrival of US
forces." Although it would be imprudent to claim a causal link, the
mission was a resounding success-with PSYOP playing a major role."
